Can someone help with these two questions please: Which position should the fuel flow switch on the fuel filter be for flow/no flow - vertical or horizontal? Secondly there is an upside down U shaped pipe on top of the rocker cover on top of the engine which I think is a breather. This pipe looks like it should have a hose on the end of it carrying the fumes away somewhere. This hose is missing on my tractor - do I really need it and if so where does it run out to?

I believe the fuel flow should be vertical for fuel flow and horizontal is the off position. As far as the hose, if it is the one I am thinking about, it is suppose to go down and vent out by the opening where the oil filter is.
Is that correct Art? ....

I'd say that little hunk of tube should be there to keep stuff out! I often like to check the small details and I'd have to get to the books to take a look. Normally they flow in the way the lever is pointed to flow. ....
